The ‘Ringman Wingman’ helping Aussies pop the question

MICHAEL Dransfield has more than forty years’ experience in the luxury jewellery trade in the UK and now he is bringing his sought-after craftmanship Down Under to help Aussies pop the big question.

The self-proclaimed ‘Ringman Wingman’ is the founder of Brisbane-headquartered Burgundy Bespoke Jewellers – a business helping couples create unique engagement and wedding rings.

“Every couple has their own unique love story, so why should your engagement or wedding ring be any different?,” asks Michael.

“At Burgundy Bespoke Jewellers we work with people to create special, one-off designs that have a story behind them.  We do this by ensuring you actually work with a craftsman, not a salesperson promoting someone else’s work, so you can add greater value to the ring on the finger.”

Michael has been in the diamonds and jewellery business since he was in his teens and throughout his career has seen manufacturing in the jewellery trade move overseas – a catalyst for co-founding his first jewellery business in the UK.

He said the aim was to shake-up the way people bought jewellery by creating a business model which serviced customers at their convenience. 

“The goal in Australia is to work directly with customers, away from a brick and mortar retail store to create a unique experience and a unique piece of jewellery,” he said.

“Because we avoid the overheads of running a store, we’re able to offer an exclusive, competitive and affordable service to any budget.”

While Mr Dransfield can create one-of-a-kind fine jewellery, such as pendants, bracelets and earrings, Burgundy Bespoke Jewellers specialises in unique diamond engagement rings.

Mr Dransfield, otherwise known as the Ringman Wingman, works alongside grooms-to-be to pop the big question.

“It is a big moment in a man’s life when he gets down on one knee and asks the girl of his dreams to marry him,” said Michael. 

“But before he asks the BIG question, he has to ask himself a few questions first – what sort of ring will she like and how will I propose?”

“That is where I come in.  I can be the ultimate Ringman Wingman and work alongside the proposer to nail down the nitty-gritty.  I educate clients about the variety of diamonds, price-points, cuts, shapes, and sizes of stones, and ultimately help transform their vision into a reality.”

Burgundy Bespoke Jewellers also offers an on-demand service and can meet the client at a time and location that suits them. 

“We believe the experience of acquiring these treasured items should be as comfortable and convenient as possible,” Michael said. 

“Life is already busy enough and finding the time to browse dozens of jewellery stores for the right ring is almost impossible.  I can take away that stress and meet you during your lunch break, at home or for a cuppa at your favourite coffee shop.”

Following the initial meeting, Burgundy Bespoke Jewellers will create a model of the ring and can even create a replica made from silver and cubic zirconia for the proposal (just in case the groom wants the fiancé’s input on the final design).

The process from start to finish takes around four weeks to be created.
