Do you help with surprise proposals?
Yes. That’s a big part of what I do. I’ll keep things discreet and help you plan the ring side of the proposal properly.
How long does it usually take to make the ring?

What if I don’t know their ring size?
That’s very common. I’ll give you a few discreet ways to estimate it without ruining the surprise, and I’ll explain what can be resized later if needed.
I’m not sure what style they’ll like. Can you still help?
Absolutely. I’ll guide you using lifestyle clues, personality, and subtle hints you may have picked up. You don’t need to walk in with the answer. That’s my job.
Do you work with both lab-grown and natural diamonds?
Yes. I work with both. I’ll explain the differences clearly so you can decide based on value, priorities, and what matters to you.
Can you redesign an old ring or use a family diamond?
At the moment, no. I don’t accept client-supplied stones for new engagement ring projects. It’s simply the best way for me to guarantee the stone’s suitability for the design, the long-term security of the setting, and the overall quality of the finished ring. If you’d like to honour the meaning of an existing piece, tell me what you have, and I’ll suggest a few design directions that capture the sentiment without using the original stone.
What budget do I need for a custom engagement ring?
Every custom ring is individually designed, so the final investment depends on your choice of diamond, metal, and design complexity.
Most bespoke engagement rings start at around $5,000 AUD, with many clients investing more depending on their vision.
If you’d prefer to discuss your budget privately, we can tailor design options to suit you during your consultation.
How does payment work?
For bespoke work, it’s a staged payment, so you stay in control the whole way through. A 50% deposit confirms your booking and lets me begin stone sourcing and design work. Once the design is approved, the final balance is paid before collection or shipping. I accept bank transfer and card, and all quotes are in AUD and include GST.
I don’t offer payment plans for bespoke pieces. However, PayPal Pay in 4 may be available through Jewellers Bench on selected made-to-order items (subject to approval). If that’s something you’re considering, I’m happy to explain what’s eligible on the call.
Will my proposal plan stay private?
Yes. I keep proposal planning confidential by default. Your consult is one-on-one. I only collect what I need to design your ring, and I don’t share your plans with anyone outside your project. I’m also careful with calls and messages so the surprise stays a surprise. If you want specific privacy preferences (safe times to call, neutral message wording, no voicemails), tell me, and I’ll follow them.
What do I need for the Zoom consult?
You don’t need much. If possible, have:
- Any inspirational images or links
- A rough idea of timing
- A budget comfort zone
